Spring Gardening

Spring is a delightful time for planting! Temperatures are cooler for working outside, rainfall waters the garden for you. Some of our favorite vegetables are cool weather lovers. Plant from seed-leaf lettuces like romaine, bibb, and red leaf; spinach, cilantro, parsley, carrots, onions, garlic, and of course, peas. Sugar pea pods are delicious in a stir fry meal. In a square foot garden box, the soil softens and warms more quickly so you can start planting earlier in the Spring. If you have never tried spring gardening, now is the time! We can garden for nine months out of the year in Utah.
